Since our conception, REF has provided scholarships that allow children to attend primary and secondary education free of charge. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic performance. Over the past 25 years we have awarded over 5,000 scholarships totaling over $80,000.

In celebration of our 25th anniversary, REF conducted a research survey of over 300 students across 5 schools, to better understand the needs of students in Cameroon today. We identified the skills most relevant for the Cameroonian context, evaluated student performance across key skill ares, and determined the right intervention points for REF. Our next 25 years will be based on what we have learned about where we are most needed.

Our team is small but mighty, and we work with partners to ensure our donations collected in the US and the UK are delivered thoughtfully to the populations we serve. We collaborate with on-the-ground teachers, administrators, and education activists to support the systems supporting our children.
